Jacques van Dijk

President

Jacques van Dijk is both a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a Certified Scaled Agile Framework Program Consultant (SPC).

Jacques brings extensive experience in software development, project management and executive management, with success in his native South Africa and in his adopted country, Canada as well as an ex-pat assignment in Russia.

In South Africa, Jacques designed and developed systems in both the defense and mining industries, as well as leading the deployment of distributed databases and performance analyses for the National Traffic Information System.

His experience in Canada includes 20 plus years working in the Oil &Gas sector – mostly in SCADA and Pipeline Management Systems.

Jacques was heavily involved in the architecting, development, and rollout of PalmOS and Windows CE software for PDAs for Stylus Metrics, Social Sector Metrics Inc and SchumbergerSema; as well as ongoing development of remotely controlled tools for accessing internet information for TransAlta Utilities.

A major development project undertaken by Zebra was the design and development of alarm routing software for Tela-Link. As part of the project, Jacques architected a solution based on a flexible communications framework which was used to develop a number of protocols for communicating with the alarm routing infrastructure equipment and the alarm monitoring of various companies' equipment.

Jacques has managed a number of SCADA and Pipeline Management System Projects, created a Software Development group for Oil&Gas Application development, started a Solution group in Moscow (Russian Federation) and lead the transformation of a project to a product-oriented business for the Valmet/Telvent/Schneider Electric/AVEVA Midstream Pipeline team. Particular accomplishments included leading the development of installation tools that dramatically reduced the time to install full Pipeline Management System Projects – from a question of weeks of manual effort to under 8 hours of unattended automated installation.

Subsequently, Jacques worked on Analytics for Oil&Gas Pipelines (including Predictive and Process Analytics) and have presented at a number of conferences, presented in Webinars and published an article to raise awareness of the possibilities.

Jacques is Zebra’s principal consultant on Analytics for Oil&Gas Pipelines, but generally likes to keep busy with all aspects of solution delivery – from protocol development to project management.

Jacques’s resume is available on request.
